Ralph Gordon Waeterling “440 Gordie”, 65, of Mount Cory passed away Thursday November 14, 2019 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
Gordie was born on August 27, 1954 in Bad Harzburg, Germany to Lothar and Sylvia (Harms) Waeterling. He is survived by his children Alecia (Jason) Glaser and Gordie Waeterling both of McComb and Elijah Waeterling of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Paige Dulaney, Camden and Blake Glaser and Haileigh Waeterling and a great-grandchild Xian Williams.
Gordie proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid football fan especially NFL. Gordie always stated that he had a couple favorite teams so if one wasn’t doing well he joked that at least one of his favorites was doing great. Gordie also enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheering on his favorite driver Kyle Busch. He had a passion for working and doing body work on Hot Rods and Drag Racing cars. Gordie also enjoyed swimming, working out and going to Riverside park with his children, where they would enjoy the scenery and the wildlife. They also enjoyed taking motorcycle rides together. He was a free spirited guy who would help out anyone in a time of need. Gordie will forever be remembered for his hilarious character, funny laugh and joy to be around.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 3:00-7:00 PM in the HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 370 Park Dr S., McComb. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard at 7PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be gifted to Gordie’s family c/o the funeral home or through the funeral home website.
