James M. Nicholson

James M. Nicholson “Jim”, 61, of Jerusalem Township passed away Sunday July 21, 2019. Jim was born on September 25, 1957 in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Jim served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After he was honorably discharged, Jim went on to earn his graduate’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. He worked as a reliability engineer for Franklin International. Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, and rooting for his favorite college football team, the University of Michigan Wolverines. He loved hot sauce and hot wheels. Jim was a firm believer in AA and was proud to be sober for nearly 30 years. He will be dearly missed.

Jim is survived by his son: Kyle (Elizabeth) Nicholson of Sylvania, Ohio; Dakota (Lori ) Nicholson of Hudson, Michigan; Mason Nicholson; parents: Milton “Jim” & Marlene Nicholson of Weston, Ohio; grandchildren: Karsyn & Emmitt; sisters: JoAnn (Rick) Hinojosa, Deb (Gary), Heistand, Jeanne (Tim) Kniffen, Vicki (Bob) Smith, Shelly (Barry) Coffman, Lisa (Todd) Austin; brothers: D.J. Roberts, Tim (Colleen) Roberts, Rod (Edna) Roberts; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by a sister Ruby Nicholson and brother Steve Roberts.

A memorial gathering for Jim will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 9:30 am until the time of his celebration of life service at 11:00 am in the Sonlight Church 19920 Sandridge Road, Weston, Ohio 43569. Military Honors will immediately follow at the church.
