Adam Soto Obituary

Adam Soto, 65, of Grand Rapids, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 4, 2020. Adam was born on October 8, 1954 to the late Bernardo and Christina (Cantu) Soto in Wood County. He married Wendy Woodling on October 20, 1972 in Toledo, Ohio and she survives.

Adam is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wendy; daughters Christina (Jake) Michalski, Nichole Murphy; sons: Anthony Soto, Jason (Jennifer) Soto; 11 grandchildren; sisters: Mary Mendieta, Jane Mendieta, Carol Delacruz, Sue Soto; brother: Rueben Soto.

Adam was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Emilio and Bernardo Soto and sister Elida Wheeler.

Adam worked as an operator and was a member of International Operating Engineers Local 18. He was a member of the former Grand Rapids Sportsmen Club. Adam loved to listen to music, play the lottery even though he never won, and loved to keep his garage organized. Adam loved to attend his children and grandchildren’s sporting events and especially attending their wrestling meets. He loved to spend time with his family, friends, and his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation for Adam will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 24084 W. Second Street, Grand Rapids, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 14010 South River Road, Grand Rapids, Ohio. Interment will immediately follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in Adam’s honor may be gifted to the family of Adam Soto c/o the funeral home or can made directly on the funeral home’s website, www.hannemanfuneralhomes.com; the Otsego Wrestling Team, or the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.

The family encourages everyone to wear a mask but they are not required.
