Adella Koester

Adella B. Koester, 94, of Lima, Ohio passed away March 9, 2023. Adella was born in Delphos, Ohio to the late Hubert and Luella (Clement) Klausing on May 20, 1928. She married Elmer Koester on February 4, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1971. 

Adella was a 1946 graduate of Delphos High School. She worked for the Montgomery Wards Department store. Adella was a long-time member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Lima. 
Adella is survived by her children: Dale (Patti) Koester, Steven (Christine) Koester, Dan (Patti) Koester, Nancy Hunt, Kathy (Bob) Burns, Laurie (Doug) Spayd, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; sibling: Helen (Frank) Rushing; In-Laws: Barb Klausing, and Joy Ritchey, Adella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer, daughter Linda Hancock, son-in-law Tom Hunt, and siblings Ed Klausing, Mel Klausing, Velma Bobilya, and Sr. Paulissa SND.

Visitation for Adella will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM in the Hanneman-Siferd Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Road, Lima, Ohio. 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM in St. Charles Catholic Church, 2200 W. Elm Street, Lima, Ohio 45805 with interment to immediately follow in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima

Memorial contributions in Adella's honor may be gifted to the St. Joseph Indian School, 1301 N Main St, Chamberlain, SD 57325.

The family would like to thank nurse Nadine and the rest of the staff at St. Rita's Hospital, St. Rita's Hospice, and the staffs at Lima Convalescent and Lockhaven for their wonderful care and compassion.
