Barbara Sue (Gerwin) Behrendsen

Barbara Sue (Gerwin) Behrendsen, 78, of Fremont, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at The Toledo Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 31, 1946, to the late Dale Harmon and Edna Rose (Jones) Gerwin, in Fremont, Ohio. She married her husband, Larry Gene Behrendsen at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fremont on June 30, 1973, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her children: Randy (Regina) Behrendsen, Ryan (Jamie) Behrendsen, Daren (Gail) Behrendsen, and Gigi Carrel; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; and her brother, Larry (Ruth) Gerwin. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Nancy Widman and Dennis Gerwin.

Barbara was a 1964 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and worked for Eaton Controls as an assembler for 18 years, and then was a stay-at-home Mom. She enjoyed traveling to visit her children and family members, and several trips to the Amish Country each year. She liked to do crossword and word search puzzles, and go to various Farmer's Markets. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fremont, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 10:00 am, until the time of a funeral service St. John's Lutheran Church, 212 N Clover St, Fremont, Ohio, 43420, with Pastor Matt Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, Ohio. Hanneman-Keller Funeral Home, of Fremont, has been graciously entrusted with Barbara's care.
