Barbara McDaniel Obituary

Barbara McDaniel, 83, of Mount Blanchard, Ohio passed away on September 14, 2020 at the Otterbein St. Mary’s.

Barbara was born on July 20, 1937 in Weston, Ohio to the late Edward and Blanche (Myers) Mercer. She married the love of her life D. James McDaniel on May 5, 1957 in the Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2019. Also surviving are her children Rev. Bruce McDaniel (Kay), Michael (Liz) McDaniel, Karen (Ken) Mowery and Loretta (Tom) Edwards, grandchildren Tyler (Ashlie), Drew (Brandy), Allan (Mariah), Judson and Samuel (Samantha) McDaniel, Chad (Kara) and Christopher (Stephanie) Mowery and Michelle (Chase) Clements, Kellsie and Kent Edwards, Evan and Cade McDaniel, Diego, Santi and Amara Hernandez and 11 great-grandchildren: Ryder, Aniston, Ava, Lilly, Koen, Cwyn, Cameron, Gemma, Delaney, Monroe and Caplan; sisters: Thelma Businger, June Fetter, brothers Dick (Shirley) Mercer and Tom (Carol) Mercer. She was preceded in death by her son Jerry McDaniel, sister Betty Young and brothers Clarence and Ron Mercer.

Barbara was a graduate of Arlington High School and a member of the Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church. She worked at the former Twin Fair Department Store in Findlay, the Kohl’s Distribution Center, and provided in home child care for many local teacher’s children. Barbara enjoyed camping and traveling around the United States including Mission Trips with her church. She loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and country/western music. Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially watching her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and sports. She had a great sense of humor and her smile and laughter were contagious. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother

Visitation for Barbara will be on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 9:00 AM until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Mt Blanchard United Methodist Church, 204 S. Main St., Mt. Blanchard, Ohio 45867, which will be livestreamed on the Hanneman Funeral Home Findlay & McComb Facebook page. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Mt. Blanchard.
