Barbara Ann (Whitacre) Middleton

Barbara Ann Middleton (Whitacre), beloved mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on October 16, 2023 at University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born in McComb, Ohio, on November 27, 1948, to the late J. Wayne and Dortha Belle (Sterling) Whitacre.

Barb dedicated her life to the nursing profession. Her former co-workers say that she was the best nurse they had ever worked with. Barb always went above and beyond to make sure her patients had with they needed. Even at the facility where she was currently living, she had her son bring a specific soda to another resident because she didn't have any. Barb's impact on the lives she touched will forever be remembered.

Barbara is survived by her son, Robert Middleton; her cherished daughter-in-law, Kathy Middleton; her grandchildren, Jonathan, Brooke, and Megan; sister, Mary (Donald) Genalo; brothers, Jack (Betty) Whitacre, and Daniel (Diane) Whitacre; sister-in-law Peggy Whitacre; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Whitacre.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5 pm - 7 pm at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 1460 W Wooster Street, Bowling Green, Ohio. Barb's funeral service will be held the following day on Friday October 20, 2023 at 11 am. Following the service, she will be cremated according to her wishes. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Adrian College Scholarship Fund, American Heart Association, or the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio in memory of Barbara Ann Middleton.
