Berta Schlecht, 94, of Fremont, Ohio passed away March 4, 2021. She was born on March 6, 1926 to Franz and Maria (Gattarmayer) Moser in Pinsdorf, Austria.  She married the late Stefan Schlecht on February 18, 1950 and they were married 63 years until he passed on February 27, 2013.

Berta Schlecht, 94, of Fremont, Ohio passed away March 4, 2021. She was born on March 6, 1926 to Franz and Maria (Gattarmayer) Moser in Pinsdorf, Austria.  She married the late Stefan Schlecht on February 18, 1950 and they were married 63 years until he passed on February 27, 2013.

Berta is survived by her children: Al Schlecht (Betty); Stefan (Carla) Schlecht; Trudi (James)Tooman; Helga (the late Nelson Friar) Friar; Albert (Barbara) Schlecht; Guenter (Susie) Schlecht; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Stefan; son Herbert Schlecht; brothers: Franz and Wilhelm Moser; sister Maria Nagl; son-in-law Nelson Friar, grandchild Nathan Friar; and great grandchild Wren Schlecht.

Berta, Stefan and their 7 children moved to the United States from Germany on March 15, 1957. She was great at needlework, baking and gardening. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fremont. 

Memorial contribution in Berta's honor may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Stein Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
