Bobbie "Bob" Hile Obituary

Bobbie (Bob) Joe Hile, 78, of Findlay, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, in his apartment at The Woodlands of Findlay. He was born on September 9, 1947, in Findlay, the son of Claude Hile and Dorothy Smith Hile Schrier.

Bobbie is preceded in death by his father, Claude; his mother, Dorothy; his older brother, Jack; his stepfather, Donald Schrier; and his partner of 20 years, Cheryl Beaupre.

He is survived by his current partner, Roberta Thompson of Findlay, OH; his second wife, Janice Wells of Toledo, OH; and his first wife, Susan L. Weist (Hile) Myers, of Wapokenta, OH. He is also survived by his son Bobby (Sara) Hile of Van Wert, OH; his daughter Joretta (Jerry) Bermudez of Findlay, OH; his younger brother Dan (Brenda) Schrier of Bluffton, IN; his six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Through the years, Bobbie worked for two Marathon Stations, the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company (20+ years), Great Scot Foods, operated a small fishing boat in Port Clinton, and served randomly as a bartender at Enck’s Tavern and the Amvets Post 21, both in Findlay.

He was an avid fan of football and baseball, supporting the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL and the Ohio State Buckeyes in college football (He despised the team from the state up north). He was also a die-hard Cincinnati Reds fan.

He loved Findlay and enjoyed many of the city's favorites, like playing a round at the Hilcrest Golf Club, eating at Jac & Do’s Pizza, and enjoying Dietsch’s ice cream.

Bobbie’s family would like to give a shout-out to the Nurses and Staff at The Woodlands of Findlay. They did an excellent job caring for Bobbie during his time there, and especially in his final weeks and hours.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5th, at Parkview Christian Church, 15035 SR-12, Findlay, OH, 45840, at 11:00 am. A Memorial service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm at the church. The Reverend Doctor Bobby J. Hile will officiate the service. All who attend the service are encouraged to wear their favorite Ohio State Buckeye gear.
