Carol Ann (Clarkson) Long

Carol Long, 85, beloved Mother & Grandmother, was called to heaven on May 26, 2024. She entered this world on February 14, 1939 in Milan, Ohio and raised by her loving parents Grace & Ray Canfield, along with her beloved sister Connie Somers. She married just before her 19th birthday to Cecil Long Jr. who she has missed for the last 10 years since his passing. Carol loved being a home-maker. She was an excellent cook & even better baker. Carol had 4 children, 12 grandchildren, & 4 great grandchildren who she adored more than anything else in this world, & they in turn adored her. She is survived by her son, Ray Long, and three daughters, Shirley Evans, Arlene LaPlante (Joe) and Sandy Carothers (Keith). Her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Long, Bryan Long, Ben Stine, Casey Stine, Noah Evans, Tiffany LaPlante (Codi Diterlizzi), Ryan La Plante (Jordyn), Nick LaPlante, Derek Carothers, Natalie Carothers, Andrew Carothers (Nicole Deford), and Paige Carothers; Great grand-children Vivian Groot, Caroline Diterlizzi, Lincoln Diterlizzi, & Gemma Diterlizzi. She also leaves behind her loving sister Connie Somers, several nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and a sister-in-law Marlene Long. Visitation will be held for the family on Thursday May 30, 2024 at 10:00am at Hanneman-Keller Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch St. Fremont, OH 43420. Funeral services will follow visitation at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Smith Cemetery, Burgoon, OH following services. She will be laid to rest next to her late husband of 55 years.
