Charles Sharp

Charles L. (Chuck) Sharp passed away Monday, October 23, 2023 at home and surrounded by his family. He was born to Dale and Mary Sharp on January 13, 1946 at Heller-Memorial Hospital in Napoleon. He married Linda L. Jennings on July 24, 1965 and enjoyed nearly six decades of making her laugh. Chuck was a lifelong farmer and truck driver. He began his truck driving career at South Delta, driving for The Andersons in Maumee for 49-1/2 years, and most recently for Pedraza Trucking in Napoleon. Chuck enjoyed working in the fields and driving truck across state lines, and he had endless stories to prove it! He loved spending time with his family, cruising around in his Gator and deer hunting. He's best-known for handing out nicknames to his loved ones and making them laugh.

Chuck is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Byronna (Stephen) Bare, Jenell (Marv) Buenger, Charla (Stephen) Fry, and Ella Sharp, and son Richard (Tammie) Sharp. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Joie (Bobby) O'Neal, Niki (Jason) Parker, Lucas (Jessica) Bare, Kayla (Zach) Noggler, Allen (Jessica) Sharp, Breanna (Ike) Niedzwiecki, Alycia (Jeffrey Kieffer) Buenger, Chayli Buenger, McKenzi (Blake Raab) Moyer, Kalleigh Fry and Nicholas Fry. Chuck had 16 great grandchildren, and another due in April 2024. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Winston Charles. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Carol and Janet Sharp, son-in-law Derek (Pete) Short and granddaughter Brytni Buenger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Liberty Center FFA, Liberty Center Fire Department or Ohio Living Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Hanneman Funeral Home, 302 E Maple Street, Liberty Center, Ohio. His celebration of life service will be held the following day, Friday, October 27 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery, Defiance, Ohio.
