Cheryl “Micki” Durbin, 74, of Fremont passed away Friday, January 15, 2021.
Micki, as many knew her, was born on July 8, 1946 in Fremont, Ohio to the late Robert and Jean (Sharkey) Williams. She married the love of her life, David Durbin, on November 12, 1966 in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Fremont and he survives. Also surviving are her three children: Terri Wheeler of Upper Sandusky, Steve (Kari) Durbin of Fremont and Karen (Scott) Schaffner of Delphos; grandchildren: Jake Wheeler, Alex Wheeler, Mallory Wheeler, Sam Durbin, Carter Durbin, Ali Durbin, Colin Schaffner and Ava Schaffner and her sister Josephine “Skeeter” (Michael) Weyer of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her brother Clayton Williams.
Micki was a 1964 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and received her Associates Degree in Computer Science from Terra State Community College. She worked as an IT Tech, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Her hobbies included planting flowers and spending time at Woodbridge Campgrounds. She loved cooking and was especially known for her Irish Stew, her potato salad and her bread pudding, making enough food to feed an army. She was a huge Elvis fan and was excited to have recently visited Graceland. Most of all, Micki loved her family. She had a contagious laugh, a righteous sense of humor and an incredible ability to draw people in with her stories.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of her Celebration of Life Service at 12 Noon in the Hanneman-Chudzinski-Keller Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch St. Fremont, Ohio 43420. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Those attending the visitation and Celebration of Life Service are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be gifted in Micki’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
