Christine "Arleen" Weaks

Christine Arleen Weaks was born on March 1, 1924 in Liberty Center, Ohio.  Arleen, 96, left the comfort of her family home and stepped into the loving arms of Jesus on May 31, 2020 at 9:37pm.  She spent her final days surrounded by her family in her home.

Arleen was born to John and Laura Clapp of Liberty Center, Ohio.  She graduated from Liberty Center High School as salutatorian in 1942.  She married Myron (Mike) Weaks on March 1, 1943 and celebrated over 60 years of marriage.  Upon graduation, Arleen was employed in a highly classified position through the Petroleum Administration through the United States Department of Interior in Washington DC. After returning to Liberty Center, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Cyril Ernst Garage.  Arleen was an active member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church where she served in many roles including church treasurer, a member of the building committee, as well as working in the children’s ministry.  She also worked with the Liberty Center Girl Scouts.  Arleen enjoyed spending her time reading, completing crossword puzzles, as well as reading and teaching nursery rhymes to her grand and great grandchildren.

Arleen is survived by her daughter Christine (Randall) Fisher of Napoleon and 5 granddaughters, Michelle (Scott) McGaughy of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Heather (Jason) Westrick of Wauseon, Ohio, Bethany (Alex) Williamson of Murfreesboro Tennessee, Kara (James) Partridge of Napoleon, Ohio, and Carma (James) Hankins of Stryker, Ohio.  Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Brennan and Reilly McGaughy, Madelyn, Collin, and Reagan Westrick, Ava and Emma Williamson, Sara, Brooke, Taylor, and Ian Partridge and Cody, Lydia, and Emily Hankins.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Paul Clapp and her husband Mike.

Visitation for Arleen will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 302 E. Maple Street, Liberty Center, Ohio. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 10:00 AM until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 AM at Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, 9474 County Road V, Liberty Center with Pastor Brad Martin officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Young Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in Arleen’s honor may be gifted to the either Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
