Clarence Snook Obituary

Clarence James Snook, age 92, peacefully passed away on February 9, 2025, 9:30 p.m. at Primrose Retirement Community in Lima, Ohio. Born on October 28, 1932, in Lima, he was the beloved son of Clarence Jacob Snook and Virginia Ethel Barkhurst, both of whom preceded him in death.

Clarence was united in marriage to his loving wife, Mary Jean McKenna Snook, for 66 years. Mary Jean, too, passed before him, leaving behind cherished memories of their life together. Clarence is survived by his son, Steve (Heather) Snook; his sisters, Marsha (James) Falk and the late Karen Davis; as well as his large, loving family. He was the proud father of three daughters: the late Mary Kay Stafford, Suzanne Snook, and Marjorie Snook. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, one of whom predeceased him, along with 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Clarence retired from The Better Business Bureau, where he had a fulfilling career. Prior to that, he had worked in food management and safety sales training, making significant contributions and earning the respect of many. Outside of his professional life, Clarence had many passions that defined him. He was an avid photographer, often capturing the beauty of the world during his travels. His love for politics and Ohio State football were unmatched, and he remained a devout Catholic throughout his life, finding solace and strength in his faith.

A memorial Mass in honor of Clarence will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at St. Charles Lima Ohio. His family invites all those who knew him to join in remembering his life, his passions, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Clarence will be deeply missed by all who loved him, and his memory will forever be treasured by his family and friends.
