David J. Johnson

David Joe Johnson, 69, of McComb passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

David was born on September 24, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Walter and Anna Mae (Koontz) Johnson.  He married Nancy (Lee) Dimiceli on May 3, 2008 and she survives in McComb. Also surviving are his children: David Woodruff of McComb, Amber Johnson of Findlay and Davi Jo Law of Davenport, Iowa; step-children: Jacki McElveney ,Toney and Dominick Dimiceli; grandchildren: Katelyn, Bailee, Conner, Matthew, Brett and Kristine and 9 out of state grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, siblings: Rilla Greenlee, Judy Nash, Darlene Hakes, Elizabeth Tackett, Helen Sloane and Lester Johnson. He was preceded in death by his siblings:  Walter Johnson Jr and Rose Baldwin.

David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He then enlisted in the Ohio National Guard, assisting during the Blizzard of 1978. He then re-enlisted in the United States Army. David enjoyed dancing, wood working and being with his family and friends. He cherished the time he spent working on cars with his son David. David had a great sense of humor and a good heart. He was always there to listen and would help anyone in a time of need.

Visitation for David will be on Monday , May 24, 2021 from 4:00 PM until the time of his Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 Park Dr., S., McComb, Ohio 45858, where Military Honors’ will be rendered by the Hancock County Memorial Squad and United States Marine Corp.
