Derald "Bud" Siferd

Derald “Bud” Siferd, 84, of Van Buren passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family.

Bud was born in Findlay, Ohio on April 20, 1936 to the late Merle and Viola (Coppes) Siferd. He married Shirley Winkle on August 24, 1956 in the McComb Church of Christ Parsonage and she survives in Van Buren. Also surviving are his children: Janet Ward of Van Buren, Linda Putnam of Carey, Nancy Rice of Findlay, Kevin (Cheryl) Siferd of Fairborn and Jennifer (Rock) Strader of Van Buren; 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Christine Siferd of Deshler and brothers Richard (Lucinda) Siferd and James Siferd; sisters: Mary Helms and Sue (Rich) Souvenier and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Keith Siferd and son-in-law: Jim Ward, John Putnam and Perry Rice and two great-grandchildren: Carleigh Haas and Leah Motter.

Bud was a 1955 graduate of Van Buren High School and was a lifelong member of the McComb Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and was a Trustee. He worked at Whirlpool in Findlay, retiring in 1995. Bud owned and operated Siferd Vault Services. Bud served on the McComb Fire Department for 16 years and the EMS and was also a member of the Eagles #2118 of Findlay. Bud loved camping at the Pleasant View Campground, where he mowed the grass every season.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 1:00-4:00 PM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 Park Dr S., McComb, Ohio 45858. Bud’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Broughton officiating. Interment will follow in the McComb Union Cemetery. Bud’s Celebration of Life Service will be livestreamed on the Hanneman Funeral Home Findlay & McComb Facebook page. Those attending the visitation and Celebration of Life Service are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
