Dolores Albers Schultz, 90, passed away on June 3, 2022 at 4pm, at Lockhaven in Lima. She was born on April 3, 1932, in Menominee, Michigan, to George and Mary (Sherry) Albers. Both parents preceded her in death.
She had previously worked at Dana Corp., and Welles Bakery, but retired from the Federal Government, Social Security Administration, after 30 years. Dolores was an alumnus of Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Menominee, a Parishioner at St. Gerard Catholic Church. She was quite an outgoing lady, as she served as the Secretary for the Youth Hockey at PanRec, a Member of Lima Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles 370 Auxiliary, VFW 1275 Auxiliary, The Red Hat Society, she played on the PanRec Ladies Broomball team, loved to travel and be with her friends. Dolores was “Mom Schultz,” to many of her children’s friends, she greeted everyone with a smile. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, making candies for everyone, doing crossword puzzles, ice hockey, Elida Wrestling, the Loveland Show Choir and pretty much anything her kids, grandkids, or great grandchildren, or great-great grandchildren were into. She also drove right up until she was 90, and was an independent woman. The Green Bay Packers were her team of choice in the NFL. She packed a lot of life into her 90 years, she was much loved by her family and friends, and will be remembered so fondly.
Dolores is survived by her 3 children; Ted (Grace) Schultz, of Loveland, OH; Tom (Margie) Schultz, of Kingswood TX; and Jana (Glenn) Grinstead, of Westerville, OH. Her grandchildren and great-granchildren: Austen, Mackenzie, Maria, Teddy, Lita, Cathy, Juan, Myra, Jesse, Stephanie, Daniel, Kayla, and Wyatt, Ava, Austin, and Isaac and Olivia. She was preceded in death by a sister: Mary Albers, and a brother; Donald Albers.
Friends may call at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME, 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima OH 45805, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 12 noon to 2pm. At 2 pm there will a service officiated by Fr. Mike Sergi from St. Gerard. Memorial Contributions may be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project, or to the charity of the Donor’s choice, in Dolores’s memory.
