Donald Eugene "Eagle" Cahill, 74, of Tiffin, passed away on November 22, 2024, at his home. He was born on August 2, 1950, in Norwalk, Ohio, to Dr. Robert and Mary Alice (Moon) Cahill, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 7, 1977, he married Joan (Trigg) Cahill, and together they shared 47 years of love and companionship.
Don was a proud graduate of Attica High School and pursued his passion for photography by attending Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California. He spent many years working at National Machinery & A. Schulman Inc, while also maintaining a career as a freelance wedding photographer, capturing the special moments of countless couples. He truly found joy in his work.
A devout member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin, Don was also active in various community organizations, including the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree), the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Loyal Order of Moose. Above all, Don was a faithful man who deeply loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, often traveling to attend their events. A family tradition, Euchre, was a favorite pastime of Don's, and he cherished playing the game with family and friends. Don also had a love for chess, appreciating the strategic elements of the game and the challenge it presented.
Don is survived by his children, Kathryn (Katie) Cahill of Columbus and Kevin (Tracy) Cahill of Columbus, and his beloved grandchildren, Evelyn, Tommy, and James. He is also survived by his siblings: F. Dallas (Lora) Cahill, DDS of Attica, James (Ellen) Cahill, Joe Cahill of La Verne, CA, Tom (Claudia) Cahill of Chicago, and Nancy (Tom) Futrell of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Karen Cahill. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
