Donald M. Coburn Sr.

Donald M. “Don” Coburn Sr., 68, of Elida passed away on March 2, 2021 at Lima Memorial Hospital.

Don was born on November 23, 1952 in Kenton, Ohio to the late James and Jessery (Hamilton) Coburn. Don is survived by his son Donald “Donny” (Christine) Coburn Jr. of Elida; grandchildren: Courtney (Brent) Burns, Treg (Shalena Hope) Coburn and Vincent Coburn; great-grandchildren: Ayla, Gwen, Calee, Kace and Traiden; siblings: Delbert (Audrey) Coburn, Joseph (Julia) Coburn, Ronnie (Sandra) Coburn, Mary (James) Sheets and Wilma (Steven) Winters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his great-grandson Tyson and siblings: William Coburn, James Coburn, Andy Coburn, David Coburn, Bob Coburn, Darrel Coburn, Berneda Senters and Thelma Hamlin.

Don was a graduate of Lima Senior High School. He worked for General Dynamics in Lima and the AFL-CIO in Lima. Don accepted Jesus Christ just days before his passing. Don had a strong work ethic that he passed down to his family. He enjoyed landscaping and was a kind hearted individual who would help anyone in a time of need. The most important part of Don’s life was his family, he cherished the time he spent with them, especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.  

Visitation will be on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the Hanneman-Siferd Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd., Lima 45805. Don's Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, where additional visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Preston Cemetery, Alger, Ohio. Those attending the visitation are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
