Donald M. McCoy

Donald M. McCoy, 90, of Willard, Ohio passed away July 21, 2022. Donald was born on February 15, 1932 to the late Lyle J. and Mildred M. (Shipley) McCoy in Fredericktown, Ohio. Donald married Wanda Brooks on December 26, 1952 and she survives.

Donald graduated 3rd in his class from Fredericktown High School. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1954 -1956. He worked for CSX Railroad and retired after 35 years. During his retirement, he drove for Sharpnack, delivering cars. Donald was active in church activities and served as a Deacon, Elder, and Adult Sunday School teacher at Greenwich Church of Christ.  He liked to build things, he made their entertainment center and completing electronic hobby projects. Donald, along with his wife Wanda, were members of the Gold Wing Rider Association and rode with them for over 20 years. They traveled to 46 states and up into Canada on their motorcycles. The most important part of his life was his family and he will be missed by all.

Donald is survived by his wife of 69 years, Wanda; children: Donley (Linda) McCoy, E. Kelly McCoy, Michelle (Carl) Kooken; grandchildren: Michael (Nicole) McCoy, Nicole (Ian) Akridge, Angela (Josh) Hughes, Christopher (Megan) Kooken, Ashley (Larry) Berry, Benjamin (Sarah) Kooken, Hilary (Aaron) Gerber; 21 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary Lou McCoy, and several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lowell McCoy, Edwin (Fran) McCoy, and sister Doris (Ronald) Bushong.

Visitation for Donald will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 11:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Service at 12:00 PM in the Greenwich Church of Christ, 10 Townsend Street, Greenwich, Ohio with Pastor Carl Snelling officiating.

Memorial Contributions in Donald's honor may be gifted to the American Cancer Society.
