Dorothy R. Riegel, 88, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2023, at Logan Acres. She was born on March 24, 1934 in Marietta IL, to Isiah and Verlie (Frietag) Williamson. Both parents preceded her in death. On August 14, 1955, in Cuba IL, she married William “Leroy” Riegel, and Leroy also preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a homemaker, and made a loving caring home for her family, and many of her best times were spent with her family. She was a member of Bartonville United Methodist Church, and was woman of faith.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Cathy Riegel, of Bellefontaine and Judith (William) Woosley of Peoria IL; grandchildren: Ryan (Terra) Woosley and Austin Woosley (Ashlyn Daniels); and great-grandchildren: Cayden, Bella, and Ryder Woosley; three brothers: James (Marg) Williamson of Oklahoma OK, Harold (Ruth) Williamson of N. Aurora IL, and Kenneth (Diana) Williamson of Henry IL; a sister Mary (Ben-deceased) Strode of Carlinville IL and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a Memorial service in Peoria IL, at a later date and Dorothy will be interred next to Leroy at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Peoria IL.
