Dortha Wells

Dortha M. Wells, 89, of North Baltimore passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family.

Dortha was born on May 3, 1931 in Putnam County, Ohio to the late David and Sarah (Keeran) Bach. Dortha is survived by her daughters Joyce Ashton of Piqua, Ohio, Nancy (Terry) Hurst of North Baltimore, Ohio, Leslie Nyman of Swartz Creek, Michigan and Becky Jo Freeman of Findlay; sons: Richard (Diane) Wells of McComb and Glenn (Linda) Wells of McComb, 13 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren and a sister Beatrice Lajiness. She was preceded in death by her twin daughters Tamela Rae and Pamela Kay, great-grandson Christopher, great-granddaughter Kinsley, a brother Duane Bach, sister Susan Bach and a son-in-law George Ashton.

Dortha was a bus driver and janitor for the McComb Local School District. She enjoyed baking cookies and was an excellent seamstress. She made quilts, slippers and clothing.  Dortha was an hard worker, who would help anyone in a time of need. Numerous times, Dortha would help students that couldn’t afford lunch. Most important part of Dortha’s life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She always made it a point to attend all their events to show her love and support.

Visitation for Dortha will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 3-7 PM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 Park Dr S., McComb, Ohio 45858.  Dortha’s Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 10 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the McComb Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be gifted in Dortha’s honor to Bridge Hospice or Armes Cancer Center.
