Edna Louise Hathaway-Johnson, 93, of McComb, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Meadows of Leipsic. She was born on June 23, 1932, in Hoytville, Ohio, to the late Lee and Bessie Kline. She married her first husband, Loren Hathaway, and he preceded her in death. She later married Paul Johnson, and he has also preceded her in death.
Edna is survived by her children: Shirley (David) Shuey, Ty Hathaway, and Palllas (Perry) Emmitt; eight grandchldren, eight great-grandchildren; and her step-children: William (Dawn) Johnson, Duane Johnson, Paula (James) Rosencrans; Joy Johnson, and Mellisa (Jeff) Auchmuty. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son: Scott (Linda) Hathaway; and her brothers: Edward "Skip" (Nancy) Kline, and Irvin (Mary Jo) Kline.
Edna was a graduate of Jackson Township Schools, and held an Associate Degree from Tiffin University. Through the years she worked for Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Metropolitan Life Insurance, and then served as a clerk, and then the mayor of Hoytville. She was a longtime member of the Hoytville United Methodist Church.
Edna greatly enjoyed bowling, and participated in many leagues over the years. She loved to travel around the world, She also enjoyed serving as a troop leader in Girl Scouts, and spending time with her many pets over the years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 10:00AM until the time of a funeral service at 12:00PM, at Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 Park Drive South, McComb, Ohio 45858. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Deshler, Ohio. Donations in Edna's memory may be shared with the Hoytville United Methodist Church.
