George Alan Henderson Sr., 69, of Lima, passed away on August 13, 2022, at 10:04 am at his residence. He was born on July 28, 1953, to the son of Clyde D. and Leota M.(Dennison) Henderson. Both parents preceded him in death. In November of 1995, he was married to Betty “Jane” Risner, who preceded him in death on June 8, 2022. Jane was George’s sweetheart, and he spent most of his days taking care of her during her illness.
George worked as a diesel mechanic for Roeder Cartage, Whemco, and retired from Joint Systems Manufacturing Plant in Lima. He was very good at his craft and his interest in all things mechanical led him to NASCAR and Limaland Motor Speedway, where he would go and enjoy racing. He was a friendly, kind-hearted man, and once you knew him, you were a friend. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, loved his family very much and would do anything for them. He was an avid hunter, and loved his dog, Stryker.
George is survived by his children: George A. (Becky) Henderson Jr. of Elida, and Jennifer R. (Jeff) Moyers of Savage, Minnesota. He had two step-sons: James K. Long and David A. Long. A sister; Edyth “Jane” (Randy) Klett, and a brother: David E. (Mary) Henderson. 4 grandchildren: Dylan, Zakk, Kylie, Kasidy and 1 great-child; Raelynn. He was preceded in death by a brother: Robert D. Henderson, and a sister: Evelyn “June” Henderson.
Friends may call HANNEMAN-SIFERD Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima Ohio 45805, on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 6-8pm. On Friday, August 19, 2022 from 11am-1pm, with a service to be conducted at 1pm, officiated by Elder Ted Cory. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum following the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Veteran’s Food Pantry in Memory of George, as he and Jane both championed Veterans Causes.
