Gladys Naomi (Vance) Hicks

Gladys Hicks, 92, passed away on June 6, 2024. Gladys was born November 16, 1931.

She was born to George and Susan Vance in Mann, West Virginia. A loving wife and mother to seven. She loved to garden, growing beautiful flowers and vegetables. She home canned. She was a great musician who played guitar and organ. Gladys was blessed to have sung at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Her family remembers her prayers. Those prayers will forever be remembered, followed, and clung to for their whole lives.

She is survived by her children; Dean Hicks and Clark Baker, Dave and Karen Hicks, Wanda Stephens, and Kathy Swartz, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved very much. Also surviving a half-sister, Pamela Egnor of West Virginia.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Willis Hicks, sons; Kenny and Quinton (Jim), daughter LaDale, 4 grandsons and brothers; George and Joseph Vance of Mansfield, OH and Robert s. Vance of Texas.

There will be no visitation, as were her wishes. The family would like to thank Hanneman Funeral Home for their arrangements.
