Harold L Dawson

Harold Louis Dawson, age 89, passed away on February 20, 2025. He was born on December 20, 1935, in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Ira and Nelda (Bentley) Dawson.

Harold proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Piedmont. In 1972, he met and married his beloved wife, Kathleen Smith. After a dedicated career, he retired from Philips Display Components.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Nelda; his wife, Kathleen; four siblings, Carol Miller, Pamela Johnson, Annabelle Reed, and Dale Dawson; as well as a stepson, Brian Davis, and three grandsons, Aaron, Brian Jr., and Ryan.

He is survived by his four stepchildren: Mark (Elaine) Davis of Harrod, Ohio; Ralph Davis of Tennessee; Charleen (John) Keel of Lima, Ohio; and Sue Wynn of Lima, Ohio. Harold also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Justin, Zachary, Matthew, Megan, Nathan, Allison, Christopher, and Elaine. In addition, he is survived by multiple great-grandchildren, including Haylee, Xander, Daxton, Katelynn, Zoe, Addilyn, Marley, Braxton, Axel, Comden, and Blaze, as well as one great-great-grandchild, Waylon.

Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In accordance with his wishes, a private family service will be held at Memorial Park at a later date.
