Harold James Moore "Hal" passed away on January 29, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on August 17, 1945, in Toledo, OH, Harold was the son of the late Arlyn and Genevieve (Ridenour) Moore. He married Peggy Stockwell in 1969. She survives.
Hal led a rich and fulfilling life, marked by his dedication to his chosen profession as an accountant and his love of standardbred horses. He graduated from Eastwood High School in 1963 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Bowling Green State University in 1969. He honed his skills and expertise at Ernst & Ernst, and later was the Vice President at Continental Cable Vision.
He's career continued as a franchise owner of both Jimmy John's and several Verizon stores. Although he was invested in his work, Hal found time for his hobbies. His number one interest were his horses followed by devotion to the Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavaliers, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Hal's passing leaves a void in the lives of his surviving relatives, including his cherished wife, Peggy Moore. He will also be deeply missed by his brothers: Gary (Linda) Moore and Robert (Patricia) Moore; sister-in-law, Nancy (Charles) Amos, brother-in-law, Matt (Patrice) Stockwell; 7 nephews and 3 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John.
To honor Harold's memory, a Memorial Gathering will be held on February 5, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home 1460 W. Wooster Street, Bowling Green, in the Remembrance Banquet Hall. Friends, family, and colleagues are invited to join in sharing stories of Hal's life.
