Helen (Fintel) Gobrogge

Helen M Gobrogge, 79, of Weston, Ohio passed away on August 5, 2023 at Brookdale Clare Bridge of Bowling Green. She was born on February 3, 1944 to the late William and Hilda (Dachenhaus) Fintel in Napoleon, Ohio. She married Melvin Gobrogge on September 30, 1961, and they were together until he passed away in 1996. 

Helen is survived by her children: Laurie (Robert) Fouts of Weston; Karen (Jerry) Stratton of The Villages, Florida; Diana Bormann of Jackson, Wisconsin; Timothy (Cindy) Gobrogge of Cypress, Texas; John (Kelly) Gobrogge of Sylvania; and Stephen Maxey of Defiance; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren with 2 more great-grandchildren on the way; sisters: Bernice (Dwayne) Lohman; and Lois Burden; and sisters-in-law: Lorna Fintel and Barbee Fintel. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Deborah Maxey, her brothers, Willis, Vernon and Irvin Fintel, and her brother-in-law Bill Burden.

Helen attended Hamler High School, and worked for the Sentinel-Tribune, Uhlman's and Kohl's Distribution Center at various times. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Weston for many years where she taught Sunday School as well as Vacation Bible School, and was active in the Ladies Mission Society. She later became a member of Abiding Word Lutheran Church in Bowling Green. Helen enjoyed gardening and antiquing, but her true joy was her family. She enjoyed being involved as much as possible in the lives of her children and grandchildren and often traveled many miles in order to be a part of special events in their lives.

Visitation for Helen will be held on August 8, 2023 from 9:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 am at Abiding Word Lutheran Church. Burial will immediately follow at Weston Cemetery.
