Irene Annette (Riley) Risner

Irene A. (McCoy) Risner, 78, passed away on May 8, 2024 at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born on December 14, 1945, in Lima to Willis S. and Kathleen (Lohr) Riley. Both parents preceded her in death.  On July 13, 1991, she married Jackie Risner, who survives in Ada.

Irene retired from General Dynamics, as an employee in the Armor Room. She loved to cook and was a craft person. She enjoyed crochet, and exhibited dresses she made for Barbies at the County Fair, and had won many awards for their design and originality. She was used to “cooking for an Army,” as her children would say. She was loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a “mom” to many.

Irene is survived by; Jackie (Estil) Goodin, Debra (Robert) Jordan, Rhonda (Larry) Roberts, Robin (Gary) Prowant, all of Lima, James David (Valerie) McCoy, of Knoxville Tenn., Steve (Jill) McCoy, of Greenfield Ohio, Raymond (Elspeth) McCoy, of Ada, Ohio, and a son-in-law, Vince Scheid of Lima. She was preceded in death by her daughter Tina Jenelle Scheid, a step-son Daniel Risner; brothers George Riley, of Troutdal OR., Willis Riley of Lima, and a sister, Linda Durding, of Portland OR.

Friends may call at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME, 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima, Ohio 45805, on Tuesday May 14, 2024, from 12 noon til 2pm at which time a service will be held, officiated by Irene’s son, Pastor James David McCoy, and Brother Shane Wireman.
