James Robison Obituary

James L. Robison, 78, formerly of Fremont passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. 

James was born on May 2, 1943 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Roy and Thelma (Herringshaw) Robison. He married Shirley Reese on June 11, 1966 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cygnet, Ohio and she survives. Also surviving are his three sons: Stephen (Tammy) Robison, David Robison and Michael (Shawna) Robison and four grandchildren—Jacob, Colin, Kaitlyn, and Aiden. He was also preceded in death by his sister Carol Ann Springer who passed away in 2017.

James was an Industrial Arts Teacher for Fremont City Schools retiring after 35 years of service. Jim was a truly loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, cousin, and uncle. Family and service to others were of utmost importance to him. He was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont and a member of St. Joseph's Blessed Sacrament Confraternity.   Jim was also a Fremont Ross Junior High 7th and 8th grade boys basketball coach (1967-1980) and kept the scorebook for Ross HS basketball through the 1970s and 80s.  He was a skilled craftsman who especially loved woodworking projects that resulted in several pieces of family heirloom furniture. 

Visitation for James will be on Tuesday August 31, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Hanneman-Chudzinski-Keller Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont, Ohio 43420, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM.  James’ Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday September 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, Ohio 43420, with Rev. Michael Roemmele, Celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. James' Services will be livestreamed on the Hanneman-Chudzinski-Keller Funeral Home Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James’ honor to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, Ohio 43420.
