Joanne Veronica (Heyne) Reaman, 93, died at St. Rita’s Hospice on Friday, April 21, 2023. Joanne was born at St. Ann Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, on August 9, 1929. She graduated from St. John’s High School in Lima in 1947. She attended Cardinal Stritch College in Milawukee, Wisconsin, where she majored in music, sang in the choral group, and learned to play the piano. Joanne married Robert Reaman at St. John the Evangelist Church on May 21, 1949. After working as a substitute teacher in Lima area grade schools, Joanne worked for 22 years in the Business Office at Lima Central Catholic High School until she retired in 1991. She was a member of St. Charles parish. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents Urban H. (Jack) and Mary C. (Kriegel) Heyne, and beloved aunt and uncle, Edna M (Kriegel) and Corbett J. Edmiston, who raised her throughout her younger years and were like grandparents to her sons, Dave and Dan. Her loving husband of 69 years, Robert Charles Reaman, passed away in 2018. Joanne is survived by her sons David (Barbara) Reaman of Cincinnati, and Daniel (Durinda) Reaman of Johnstown, PA; grandchildren Daniel M. Reaman, Bradley (Casey) Reaman, Amy (Joshua) Bollam, and Brett Reaman; great-grandchildren Wesley and Ezra Reaman and Robert and Charles Bollam; nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her dear friend from childhood to present, Jean (Dorley) Holtz. Joanne lived her faith every day of her life. She was kind, loving, and generous and truly cared about others. Her family often noted that she never met a stranger because she made friends so easily. She loved cooking and baking for her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sharing in the joy of their everyday activities as well as their many successes. Joanne loved to sing and often displayed her creative talents through calligraphy, drawing, painting, and a special children’s book that she wrote, entitled It’s a Fact…Learning Is Fun. She will be missed by all who knew her. Family and friends will be received at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 9:00 AM. The funeral Mass celebrated by Father Kent Kaufman will follow at 10:30 AM. Burial will immediately follow Mass at Gethsemani Cemetery.
