Jon "Dave" David Altstaetter

Jon David "Dave" Altstaetter, 63, of McComb, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center, after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on October 2, 1961, to Fred and Judy (Sheidler) Altstaetter.

Dave is survived by his mother, Judy; daughters: Alison Altstaetter, of McComb, and Amanda Hunt, of Tiffin; grandchildren Eliza, Lydia, and Corra Dehart, Emrey and Miloh DeLaCerda, and Ryland Hunt; his sister, Colleen (Larry) Kaufmann, of Findlay, and her children: Jacob Newton and Megan Greer; and his brother,  Chad (Kim) Altstaetter, of Celina, and their sons, Conner and Carter.  Additionally, he is survived by his best friend, Ang Shellenberger and her family.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents Helen and "Funny" Altstaetter, and Violet and Frank Sheidler.

Dave was a 1980 graduate of McComb High School, where he played football and ran track.  He worked at RPM Carbide Die in Arcadia for many years.  He was a fan of Ohio State football, the Cincinnati Bengals, and McComb Panthers football, where he could be found in the press box during home games.  Over the years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, cooking, gardening, helping others by being a handyman, and hanging out with friends at the McComb VFW.

Visitation for Dave will be held on Friday, January 10, 2024, from 3:00 PM, until the time of a Celebration of Life Service, at 5:00 PM, at Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 South Park Drive, McComb, Ohio, 45858.  Contributions in Dave's memory may be shared with the McComb Athletic Boosters.  Hanneman Family Funeral Homes is honored to serve Dave's family and encourage those to share a fond memory or condolence by visiting hannemanfuneralhomes.com.
