Joseph Burnham Obituary

Joseph Burnham
March 3, 1962 - November 8, 2024
Joseph "Joe" Burnham, age 62, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024. Born on March 3, 1962, he was the beloved son of the late Dean and Georgia (Madison) Burnham.
Joe married the love of his life, Sherry (Ritchey) Wynn, on September 21, 1985. Together, they shared a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his children, David (Lindsey) Burnham and Amanda Markel; and his sisters, Judy and Joyce. Joe was preceded in death by his son, James Burnham.
He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Rebecca, David Jr., Nathaniel, Riley, Ashlynn, and Ethan, who brought immense joy to his life.
Joe worked as a crane operator for Northstar BlueScope Steel for 23 years. He was a graduate of Adel High School and served honorably as a Military Police Officer in the U.S. Army while stationed in Alaska. Joe had a passion for the simple pleasures in life: fishing, reading, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Cincinnati Reds and Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed long walks and had a deep love for animals. Joe was a member of Redemption Church in Maumee, Ohio, where he found community and faith.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Joe's memory to the Wood County Humane Society, reflecting his lifelong love for animals.
Joe will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Military honors will be rendered at a date to be determined
