Karen (Latta) Vowell

Karen Vowell, a loving wife, daughter, sister and cherished friend, passed away on October 20, 2023, at the age of 63. 

She was born on October 28, 1959, in Bluffton, Ohio, Karen was the daughter of Everett and Carolyn (Collingwood) Latta. 
She married the love of her life Glenn Vowell on June 19, 1999 in the McComb Methodist Church and he survives in McComb. Also surviving are her brothers: Joe (Bonny) Latta and Charles Latta, her step-daughter: Victoria Catalano; granddaughter Sophia; her canine companion Brewster and 11 nieces and nephews and 8 great-nieces and nephews.

Karen's life was marked by countless precious memories alongside her beloved husband, Glenn. They first crossed paths at the Little People of America Convention, where their connection sparked. Together, they embarked on 35 cruises, exploring the world hand in hand. Their shared love for table games and their unwavering loyalty as Cleveland Browns fans made every moment spent together even more special.

Karen attended Bowling Green State University. Prior to her university years, Karen had graduated from McComb High School in 1978. Throughout her life, Karen nurtured her passion for cross-stitching, creating beautiful works of art that were treasured gifts for her loved ones. Her talent and attention to detail were admired by all who laid eyes on her creations. Karen was also a devoted pet parent to her loyal companion, Brewster, a furry friend who brought immense joy and companionship into her life. Together with Glenn, Karen owned and operated Cruisenyou.com, a testament to their shared entrepreneurial spirit and love for travel. Their dedication to providing memorable experiences for countless travelers will always be remembered. Karen's impact on the lives of those around her cannot be overstated. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and genuine kindness brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed by her family and all that knew her.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 PM in Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 Park Dr S., McComb, Ohio. Karen's Celebration of Life Service will be on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will be in the McComb Union Cemetery.
