Karl Best

Karl L. Best, 84, of Williamstown passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

Karl was born on August 23, 1937 in Knox, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Margaret (Weaver) Best. He married the love of his life Judith Garlinger on January 13, 1957 in Knox, Pennsylvania and she survives in Williamstown. Karl is also survived by his children: Rick Best of Dola, Tommy (Dee) Best of Williamstown , JaneAnn (Jerry) Wickham of Carey and Sally (Dana) Howard of Williamstown; grandchildren: Corey, Charlie, Heather, Derek, Keith, Samantha, Zachary, Lonell, Abbyjo, Hanna, Jenna and Lola;  great- grandchildren: Sofiah, Amber, Janelle, Lorylie, Alleyna, Stevenson, Amber, Hayden, Damien, Kelsi, Kaylee, Brooklyn, William, Noah, Bentley, Emma. Elijah and Josiah. He was preceded in death by his daughter in-law Corienia Best and siblings: Donald, Enabelle, Melvin, Arnetta, Ralph and Phillip.

Karl proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. Karl enjoyed his morning cup of coffee and feeding his cats. He also loved Garfield the Cat cartoons and books. Most of all Karl loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.

A Private Graveside Service with Military Honors, rendered by the Hancock County Memorial Squad will be held in the Williamstown Cemetery.
