In loving memory of Kay Loraine Smith, who passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, at the age of 84. Kay was born on May 10, 1941, and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend.
Kay will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Katrina (Bryan) Plikerd, Sabrina (David) Moore, and Jennifer (Rodney) Batch. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn (Eugene) Smith, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald W. Smith, and her parents Lorence and Ruth Eileen (Moehlman) Carmean.
A graduate of Liberty Westwood High School, Kay dedicated her career to serving her family and the community, working at Nearing, Huber & Harger Insurance, Wood County Hospital, American Greetings, and Wood County Memory Gardens. She was a member of The Church of Christ in Rudolph and The Church of the Nazarene, and she attended Dayspring Assembly of God.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, April 2, from 10:00 AM until the time of her Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Burial will immediately follow at Rudolph Cemetery.
