Kenneth Silveus Obituary

Kenneth Linn Silveus, 85, of Liberty Center, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. He was born December 14, 1934 in Napoleon, Ohio to Rollie and Mary (Linthicum) Silveus. On December 29, 1962, he married Arita Andrews and they recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.

Ken worked for I.T.T. Higbie as a steel plating processor for over thirty years until retirement. He was a member of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Ken was a 1956 graduate of Liberty Center High School where he was involved in many sports and an active FFA member. He was also a life long member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, Liberty Center.

As a devoted Grandfather, Ken enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, reading stories, giving wagon rides and dominating at playing UNO. His greatest joy was showing his love to his daughters and grandkids by showering them yearly with special Valentine cards.

He is survived by his wife, Arita, three daughters: Teresa (Randy) Bostelman, Liberty Center; Kathy (John) Hartford, Liberty Center; and Karen (Matt) Dietrich, Napoleon; a sister, Eva Saneholtz, Liberty Center; Sister-in-law Phyllis Silveus, Napoleon; seven grandchildren: Lindsey (Isaac) Williams, Casey (Jim) Bright, Ben (Kristin) Hartford, Janae (Cody) Elling, Makena Dietrich, Kendall Dietrich, and Meghan Dietrich. Great Grandchildren are Callan and Harper Williams, Kenlee and Jack Bright, Jaycer and Cayden Elling, Judah and Merrick Hartford. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ruby, his father, mother, and brother Jim Silveus, and brother-in-law Burdette Saneholtz.

Due to the health concerns surrounding COVID-19, services will be private for the family. Interment will take place at Morrison Cemetery, Liberty Center.

Memorial Contributions in Ken’s honor may be made to the  Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, Elara Caring Hospice, or the Liberty Center Fire Department.
