Leah Mehaffey, 84, of North Baltimore passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore.
Leah was born in Rawson, Ohio on April 13, 1936 to the late George and Ervena (Timmons) Cogley. She married Byron Mehaffey on September 1, 1956 and he preceded her in death on February 13, 2009. Leah is survived by her daughter Alisa Sharninghouse of North Baltimore, son: Kevin (Debi) Mehaffey of Grand Rapids, Ohio; grandchildren: Jeremy (Robyn) Sharninghouse, Joshua (Sara) Sharninghouse, John Thomas (Joyce) Sharninghouse , Bryon “BJ” Mehaffey, Andy (Allie) Mehaffey and Tony Mehaffey; great-grandchildren: Jackson, Brenna, Breese and one on the way; siblings: Jacob (Doris) Cogley of Findlay, Martha Unruh of Findlay and Ione (Tom) Morrison of Findlay, sister in law Nancy Cogley and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Leah was preceded in death by her siblings: Danny Cogley, David Cogley, Betty Shafer, Helen Cogely and Gemina Cogley and a son-in-law Dennis Sharinghouse.
Leah work for the City of Findlay as a School crossing guard at the corner of Lima and Southwest St for 20 years. She was a member of the OES Morris Chapter 265 in North Baltimore. Leah enjoyed crocheting, and fishing and spending time at her cottage on the Maumee River. She was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan as well as a Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Leah also volunteered at the Hancock County Senior Center. The most important part of Leah’s life was her family. She loved having them over for Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve dinners and cherished the time she spent with them.
