Leo L. Zenz, of Liberty Center, departed this life at his home on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Leo, son of Lawrence and Fern (Davis) Zenz was born on Jan. 18, 1937.
On Nov. 5, 1955 he married Berniece Keller of Bryan.
Leo was a lifelong dairy & grain farmer. He was also a milk truck driver, part time semi driver and security guard for The Anderson’s.
Leo was a Henry County Senior Fairboard Director for 33 years, President of the Henry County Mutual Insurance Board for 30 years, Farm Bureau Member, FFA Alumni Lifetime Member and Holstein Association Member. He had also served as a 4-H Advisor, Dairy Service Unit Board Member & Soil and Water Board Associate Director.
Leo received the Henry County 4-H Hall of Fame, Henry County Agriculture Hall of Fame and Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Fair Supporter Awards.
Leo is survived by his wife, Berniece, of 65 years; children Lexie (John) Poulson, Ron (Julie) Zenz, Connie (Dave) Clinker and Lori (Gary) Graber. Grandchildren are: Jessie (Patrick) Schulze, Shane (Hilary) Poulson, Troy Zenz, Dan (Stephanie) Clinker, Cassie (Dave) Roebke, Haley (James) Everhart, Zac (fiancée Brooke Unterbrink) Graber, Blake (fiancée Emma Babcock) Graber, Samantha Graber and Sarah Graber. They were also blessed with five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were an infant son Randy and grandson Alex Zenz.
Per Leo’s wishes there will be no services.
Because of Leo’s dedication to and passion for the fair, memorial contributions may be made towards fairground improvements c/o the Henry County Agricultural Society.
