Leon Smith Obituary

Leon D. Smith, 74, of Findlay passed away Saturday June 11, 2022 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Leon was born on January 29, 1948 to the late Harry and Vera (Breitigam) Smith. He married Shelly Butler on January 29, 1982 in Van Buren and she survives in Findlay. Also surviving are his children: Leanna (Dale) Sortor, Lindsey (Tony) Young and Cindy (Tim) Brown all of Findlay; grandchildren: Adrianne, Ashlynn and Gretchen; siblings: Robert (Sherry) Smith, Carroll (Diane) Smith and Virginia Langley and his canine companion Stella.

Leon worked for the Findlay Publishing Company as a delivery driver and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He formerly owned and operated County Acres Auto Sales. Leon enjoyed travelling to the Amish Country and Pigeon Forge. He also enjoyed woodworking, doing puzzles and listening to country music and to 50’s and 60’s rock n roll Leon was a hardworking and willing to help anyone in a time of need.

Per Leon’s request there will be no service.

Arrangements have been entrusted with the Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840.

Memorial contributions may be made in Leon’s honor to the Hancock County Humane Society.
