Lyle Keith Johnson

Lyle Keith Johnson,58 of Lima, passed away unexpectedly on June 14,2024 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s. He was born on February 25,1966 to Dean R. And Bonnie J. (Collins) Johnson. His mother preceded him in death. 
On June 20,1987 he married Vicky Lynn Cook. He did not just marry his soul mate that day, he chose to love and embrace three small kids as his own. His love, support and guidance helped shape who they became. 
Lye worked in machine maintenance at SRK (formerly DTR) in Bluffton. He was a hard worker and always a strong provider. If he wasn’t working, he was doing projects at home with Vicky, tinkering in his garage or doing yard work. He wasn’t afraid to clean or cook a meal and was always a partner to Vicky. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle with Vicky on the back. Some of his most cherished moments was when he had his sons riding next to him. 
Lyle was a gentle man, quick tempered but so easy to love. His phrases and made-up words would turn your laughter to tears. He was a family man. He was a wonderful husband, always by Vicky’s side. There was never a day that went by where he did not greet her with three kisses and say goodbye the same way. He loved all his children and grandchildren unconditionally, even when he had to from afar. Lyle was an agitator and enjoyed it greatly. He loved to pick on all the kids and they loved to give it right back. He was a role model and a good listener not just for his kids and grandkids but to all his nieces and nephews as well. 
Surviving to cherish his memory are; his Father; Dean R. (Debbie) Johnson, of Florida: Daughters; Melita (Craig) Bellman of Lima, and Ashley Johnson of Lima: A Son; Jason (Karen) Long of Cincinnati, a sister; Misty (Marty) McDermitt of Florida, and a brother; Jason (Larissa) Johnson of Florida. Lyle and Vicky have 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 
In addition to his mother, Lyle was preceded in death by his son; Deon M. Cook, a Granddaughter; Isabella Farrington, his Father-In-Law; Larry Joe Cook and Mother-in-Law; Emma Roberta Cook.

A Memorial gathering will be held at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME, 506 N. Cable Rd., Lima Ohio 45805, on Saturday June 22,2024 from 11 am – 1 pm. A service will follow visitation. Please go to www.hannemanfuneralhomes.com to express online condolences and purchase floral tributes.
