Fred Lynn Huffman, 78, of Fremont, passed away Saturday evening, June 5, 2021 at his home. He was born June 14, 1942 in Fremont, the son of the late Mila (Reed) and Fred M. Huffman. In 1970 he married Annette Bintz and she preceded him in death on May 3, 2005. He was a 1960 graduate of Fremont Ross, graduated from DePauw University, Greencastle, IN, and earned his Master of Education Administration from the University of Toledo.
Lynn was a guidance counselor for Clyde Schools; teacher at Vanguard; Professor and Dean of Students at Tiffin University; Principal at Port Clinton High School. He finished his career in education as Human Resource and Finance Director of Fremont City Schools. Lynn was a member of Hayes United Methodist Church, Fremont, the Fremont Rotary Club and former member of the Port Clinton Yacht Club. Lynn enjoyed traveling, spending time in Florida, bird watching, fine food, and time outdoors. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Lynn and his wife, Annette, raised three children: Kent C. (Kasey) Huffman, Fredrick L. Huffman, Elizabeth A. (Andy) Leibreich. His grandchildren: Lydia and Annabel Huffman and brother: Wayne A. (Judy) Huffman and special companion: Anita Makar survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, step father: Elam Sabroske.
Visitation will be 11am to 1pm, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Hanneman-Chudzinski-Keller Funeral Home 416 S Arch Street, Fremont, where Funeral Services will begin at 1pm. Rev Joshua Wynn will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
