M. Marlene Harden, 82, of McComb passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Meadow of Leipsic.
Marlene was born on May 1, 1941 in McComb, Ohio to the late Myron and Mona (Robison) Mapes. She married the love of her life Jack Harden on June 6, 1959 in the McComb Church of Christ and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2020. Marlene is survived are her two sons: Eric (Wendy) Harden of Springfield, Tennessee and Steven Harden of McComb; grandchildren: LeAnne, Kristen, Ryan (Penny) and Brett; great-grandchildren: Jeremiah, Claire, Maddox and Addie; her brother: Larry Mapes and her life long classmate and friends: Darlene Baumlein and Judy Altsaetter. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Diane Renee Harden; a grandson Nicholas Harden and sisters: Doris Clark, Marjorie Oglesbee and Diane Harden.
Marlene was a 1959 graduate of McComb High School. Marlene had a strong belief in God. She was a member the McComb United Methodist Church. Marlene worked for McComb Super Value, in bakery department. She also worked for the McComb Local Schools in the cafeteria for fifteen years. Marlene and Jack enjoyed traveling all around the United States. She was a tremendous cook, she made delicious pies, homemade potato soup and noodles. Marlene was a loving, caring, and compassionate person. The most important part of Marlene’s life was her family. She was very devoted to those she loved and was always supportive of her families’ activities.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 Park Dr S., McComb, Ohio 45858. Marlene's funeral service will be on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the McComb Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be gifted in Marlene’s honor to the Bridge Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
