MARTHA GRACE BUCHANAN MOLDER

ROCKY MOUNT NC– Martha Grace Buchanan Molder, age 86, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023.  Born in Allen County, OH on December 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Herbert W. Buchanan and Freda Katrina Walter Buchanan.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lee Molder; her brother, John H. Buchanan; and her sister-in-law, Carole W. Buchanan.

Martha graduated from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH with a bachelor’s in education.  She taught in the Elida School District and retired as a teacher with 35 years of dedicated service.  Martha played the organ at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Delphos, OH and various other Lutheran churches over the years.  In 1992, Martha moved to Rocky Mount where she enjoyed the Belmont community.  A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, Martha will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Martha is survived by son, Gregory T. “Greg” Molder; her grandchildren, Neil Molder and his wife, Barbara and Sarah Molder Waylon-James and her husband, Alex; her great-grandchildren, Virgil, Elijah, and Adelyn Molder and Benjamin Waylon-James; her nieces, Lynn Snyder and Ellen McDonough; and her nephew, Eric Buchanan.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Martha’s life will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 11:45 AM, at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME, 506 North Cable Road, Lima, OH 45805.  A burial of her cremated remains will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta, OH.  Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 11:40 AM prior to the service in the funeral home.
