Mary Lou Glaser

Mary Louise Glaser, age 95, passed away on August 8, 2024 in Ottawa, Ohio. She was born on December 21, 1928 in Wharton, Ohio to the late John and Lucille (Hunter) Vogel.

After graduating from Wharton High School, Mary Lou went on to graduate from Tiffin Business School. She spent much of her professional career working for Hancock Brick and Tile and Bennett's Furniture. She was also part owner of Glaser Insurance. On February 17, 1952, Mary Lou wed Marvin Glaser and they shared almost 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2012. 

Mary Lou enjoyed a variety of activities, including reading, solving crosswords, playing bridge, and cultivating tomatoes and flowers. She also took great pleasure in planning and preparing meals for gatherings with her friends and family.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughters, Susan (Steve) Heyne of Chelsea, Michigan and Jane (David) Benroth of McComb, Ohio; a son, Thomas (Joyce) Glaser of Westerville, Ohio; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, an infant daughter, and her brother, William Vogel. 

In honor of her love for the library, memorial contributions can be made to McComb Library.

Visitation for Mary Lou will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 11 am at Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 S Park Dr, McComb, OH 45858. A memorial service will immediately follow visitation at noon. After the service, she will be laid to rest at McComb Union Cemetery.
