Matthew Wayne Adkins

Matthew W. Adkins, 53, of Paulding, Ohio passed away on Saturday March 22, 2025 in Weston, Ohio.

A memorial dinner is scheduled for Saturday April 12, 2025 from 2-8 pm at the Faternal Order of Eagles at 140 North Main Street, North Baltimore, Ohio 45872, with services being led by Rev. Justin Hunt.

Matthew was born in Paulding, Ohio to Francis Russell and Gregory (Kathy Mericle) Adkins on October 21, 1971. He graduated from Paulding High School and later married Lisa (Roger) Hunt (Rader) in November of 1994. Matthew worked many jobs but was most known for being Head Chef at Ryan's in Findlay, Ohio. Matthew loved spending time with his children, his "Partners in Crime" (Grandboys), watching Wrestling and NASCAR, and you never saw him without a Diet Mt. Dew. He loved the outdoors and sitting around a fire on a warm summers evening.

Matthew is proceeded in death by his mother Francis (Smith) Russell, son Matthew Robert Adkins, grandson Johnathan Alvin Smith, Grandparents Dorthea (Smith) and William Joseph Potts. He was also proceeded in death by aunt Barbara Gillet, and lastly uncle and aunt by marriage Billy Joe and Catherine (Muchnok-Detrich) Potts who he had a very dear relationship with up until there passing.

Matthew is survived by his ex wife Lisa (Roger) Rader, Children Rebecka (Matthew) Smith, Joseph Adkins, and Corrina Adkins. he also leaves behind his "Partners in Crime" Matthew Smith Jr., Tucker Smith, and Jaxson Allen Smith due June 27, 2025. He leaves behind loving father Gregory (Kathy Mericle) Adkins, siblings Craig Adkins and Laura (Jason) Adkins Merriman along with many nephews, nieces, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many close friends and family.
