Melvena Kay (Gatrell) Clink

Melvena Kay Clink, lovingly known as Melv, passed away on May 5, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on February 13, 1946, in Salem, OH, and most recently resided in Findlay, OH. Melvena will be remembered for her kind heart, nurturing spirit, and dedication to her family.

Melvena enjoyed sewing, gardening, and reading in her free time. One of her greatest joys was helping to raise her beloved grandson, Zachary.

Melvena attended Fostoria High School and furthered her education at Tiffin Academy of Hair Design. She married Thomas R. Clink in January 1972 & he preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Kermit E. Gatrell and Blanche G. (Duty), as well as her brothers Philip and Wayne Gatrell, and sisters Marlene Gatrell, Deanna Delph, and Brenda Babb. Melvena is survived by her brother, Bret Gatrell of Bucyrus, OH, and sisters Sonja (Richard) Zirger, Barbara Davis, and Robyn Gatrell, all of Fostoria, OH; Connie Gatrell of Findlay, OH; Jannice (William) Wilson of Johnstown, OH; Kathie Balser of Goodlettsville, TN; and Tish (Frank) Greene of Ocala, FL.

Melvena's professional journey included working as a beautician, providing childcare services, and later working at Lima Memorial Hospital.

Home was Melvena's favorite place in the world, where she felt most content surrounded by her loved ones. She was immensely proud of her three children, Amy K. Clink (Charles E. Kruse) of Lima, OH; Julie A. Clink of Findlay, OH; and Andrew T. Clink of Riverview, FL. Melvena was also a loving & proud "Gram" to Zachary A. Campbell of Findlay, OH.

Melvena will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 12:00PM-1:30PM with a memorial service following at 1:30PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 935 West Bigelow Avenue, Findlay, OH.
