Michael J. Doughty Sr., born on July 8, 1950, in Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully from long term illness on June 18, 2026, at the age of 75. Michael will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and the community.
He is survived by his three children, Michael (Lacy), Tim (Bonnie), and Jessica Doughty, along with eight beloved grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. his long-time girlfriend, Bonnie Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Frances Doughty, as well as his siblings: Thomas, Richard, and Diane. He will also be remembered by the remaining family members, including aunts and uncles.
Michael was a proud 1970 graduate of Norwalk High School and dedicated much of his working life to the craft of welding at Durable Corp., later transitioning to a role as a delivery driver for PDI. Beyond his professional work, he served as an investigator for the Humane Society of Huron County, demonstrating his compassion for animals and commitment to his community.
An avid fisherman, enthusiastic pool player, and passionate bowler in his younger days, Michael was a familiar and beloved figure on Bennett Lane – always available to lend a helping hand or share a conversation with neighbors. His caring nature endeared him to many and made a lasting impact on those around him.
Services for Michael will be a private scattering of his remains.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Southern Care Hospice or the Huron County Humane Society.
