Norma Carol Schlotz, 95, of Mcclure, Ohio passed away peacefully in her home on December 18, 2023. She was born July 16, 1928 in Whittier, California to Dick and Mae Bortel. She married the love of her life, Eugene Schlotz, in 1949 and together they began a life full of love and memories. They had three children: Lon, Kenny and Lori. Eugene and Norma also had seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Norma enjoyed the beautiful things in life; literature, nature and music. She had an angelic voice which she shared in the church choir, acapella groups, and in many musicals. Most of all, she cherished her time being a wife, mother and grandmother. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Arna and Winnie, and her son, Kenny. Norma’s family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate care and requests that any donations be made to this organization.
Visitation for Norma will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of her celebration of life service at noon at Hanneman Funeral Home, 24084 E 2nd Street, Grand Rapids, Ohio 43522. Burial will immediately follow at Hockman Cemetery.
