It is with great sadness that the family of Orfelinda Campos announce her passing, after a brief illness, on Monday, May 11, 2020, at the young age of 65.
Orfelinda (Fela) was born in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, on August 9, 1954 to the late Jose Natividad and Ovidia (Dimas) De Anda. Brothers and sisters gone to be with the Lord are: Hortencia De Anda, Oralia (Eliseo Sr.) Gutierrez, Juan Manuel (Maria) De Anda, and Martin Alfonso (Josefina) De Anda.
She is survived by her husband, Esaul Campos; Children - Jesus (Edie) Medina, Erica (Marcus) Weisenberger, Jose Medina Jr, and Juan (Samantha) Medina; Sisters - Olga (Robert Jr.) Grein, Nilda (Heraclio) Rendon; Brothers - Leonel (Criselda) De Anda, Jose (Lupita) Natividad De Anda Jr: 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces/nephews.
Family and friends were Orfelinda’s passion and joy. She truly cherished the times she spent with them, especially her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Orfelinda welcomed everyone into her life and home with open arms. She was also well-known for going to great lengths to help and be with anyone in their time of need.
A loving mother, Orfelinda was a remarkable cook, and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Tamales being her specialty.
She was a hard worker from a very young age. She worked as a migrant worker for many years at Weirs, Buurma and Holthouse farms.Later in life she worked for Texas Migrant Head Start as a preschool teacher where she enjoyed educating and spending time with young children.
Orfelinda was a loving, giving, and faithful person who religiously attended The Chapel, Norwalk.
A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday May 16, 2020 at 10:30 AM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, Willard, that will be livestreamed on the Hanneman Funeral Home Willard & Attica Facebook page. A public Graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Greenwood Cemetery, which will also be livestreamed for those that can’t attend.
